Ghana fans rip 'ugly' latest Puma jersey for Black Stars

Image
Some Ghana fans have ripped Puma to pieces over the German apparel company's 'ugly' new design of away kit for the Black Stars with some describing it as 'disgusting'. The fans took to social media to express their disapproval over the new red design for the national team. Puma are releasing new designs for the countries they produce jerseys for and Ghana is among countries to wear new jerseys from this month. The Black Stars are expected to release the jersey on Sunday's final 2018 World Cup qualifier against Egypt in Cape Coast. The new kit has received rave reviews among jersey experts with many praising the design by Puma. "One of the most outstanding kits of Puma's 2018 national team jerseys, the Ghana 2018 home jersey boasts an outstanding design in red, yellow and black that stands in stark contrast to their usually white home shirts," an expert on the field said about the new Ghana shirt. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has disclosed that Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire have agreed to coordinate their respective policies in the Cocoa sector to ensure that the two countries who are responsible for the production of 65% of the world’s cocoa, reap higher benefits from the sector than what both currently enjoy. Central Region records drop in teenage pregnancy

The Central Region, ranked as the second highest region with high prevalence of teenage pregnancy in the country, has started witnessing a decline in the number of cases, the Regional Department of Gender has revealed.    A Ghana Health Service Report indicated that more than 13,000 teenage girls got pregnant in the region in 2015. At least 5,000 teenage girls in the region got pregnant between July and December 2016, the Member of Paliament for Komenda Edina Eguafo Abirem, Samuel Atta Mills told Parliament in June this year.    It is estimated that one out of every three girls (31.2 per cent) in the region marries or is cohabiting before age 18; something that experts say is affecting the fight against teenage pregnancy. But the Director of Gender Department in the region, Mrs Thywill Eyra Kpe, has said the cases have begun to decline due to various interventions by stakeholders. “It is obvious that we have made some modest gains in th...

Ghana U17 trounce over their Indian counterparts

Image
The Black Starlets recovered from a defeat to the United States to beat host nation India 4-0 to book a place in the next round of the on-going FIFA under 17 FIFA World Cup. A brace from Captain Eric Ayiah and a goal each from substitutes Danso and Toku were all Ghana needed to end India’s World Cup dreams. The host nation started the game brightly, pinning Ghana to the wall but the Starlets stood their ground to ensure that their defensive line wasn’t breached. Ghana grew into the game and created some decent openings but the frontline led by captain Ayiah could not make the best out of the numerous chances created. Ghana had the breakthrough on the stroke of half-time when Eric Ayiah pounced on a rebound to register his first goal of the tournament. Ayiah’s first-half goal lifted the pressure on the Starlets who returned from the break to play with freedom, confidence and panache. The Starlets attacked their opponents incessantly and eventually got the s...

According to Abronye, Akufo-Addo is fulfilling all his promises to his people and is truly the Jesus Christ of this present day. Abronye was speaking after the restoration of the nurses trainee allowances by the NPP government after it was rescinded under the previous NDC administration.
